Test: Are You Ready to Venture Out of Your Comfort Zone?

Test: Are You Ready to Venture Out of Your Comfort Zone?Last week we published our goal motivation and risk tolerance test, and now it’s time to see how ready you are to venture out of your comfort zone. Scoring high on this test means several things:

  • First, it means you are obviously a risk taker who enjoys a good challenge.
  • Second, you are not afraid of making a mistake which makes you more likely to succeed and take advantage of more opportunities.
  • Third, you are not too concerned about the judgment of others.

Having said that, there is no right or wrong here — it’s a matter of personal preference. Being risk-averse, doesn’t make you a coward, and it certainly doesn’t mean you can’t succeed as an entrepreneur. In fact, studies show that entrepreneurs tend to be more risk-averse than non-entrepreneurs. Being able to get out of your comfort zone and take risks seems to be more important in the beginning of your entrepreneurial journey and not so much later when you are already established. On the other hand, if you truly feel fearful, or if you are bored with the current state of affairs in your business or personal life, you can gradually expand your comfort zone, opening yourself up to new life experiences and business opportunities. Ready to take the test? Let’s begin!

Your results will be displayed below.

LOW: You prefer to stay in your comfort zone at all times and that’s okay! Unwillingness to take risks is not necessary a cowardice and is a matter of preference. If you suspect, however, that some degree of fear is involved, and you would like to change, you can begin to stretch yourself gently by trying something new or by being around people who are comfortable with risk.

MEDIUM: You have an average level of risk tolerance. Although you generally prefer to stay within your comfort zone, you venture out on occasion, gently stretching yourself and opening yourself up to new experiences. You consider your options carefully and then try to take the best possible decision while minimizing the chances of failure.

HIGH: You are a bold, daring, thrill seeking person. You are very comfortable to take risks and challenge your comfort zone.
