Creativity Test: Curiosity, Imagination, Complexity, Risk Tolerance

This creativity test is based on four factors of creativity: curiosity, imagination, complexity, and risk tolerance.

Curiosity

Curiosity in this context refers to a persistent desire to learn and discover new things and ideas. A curious person:

• always looks for new and original ways of thinking,
• likes to learn,
• searches for alternative solutions even when traditional solutions are available,
• enjoys reading books and watching documentaries,
• wants to know how things work inside and out.

Imagination

The terms “imagination” and “creativity” are often used interchangeably, but in this context, imagination refers to mental imagery or the ability to picture things in your mind. People with a well-developed imagination may:

• write fiction or simply make up stories just for the heck of it,
• dream a lot,
• predict others’ reactions,
• indulge in thoughts about things they have never seen.

Complexity

Complexity here refers to a combination of three traits:

• complex thinking,
• mental energy,
• ambition.

People with this quality are likely to:

• look for challenging tasks,
• enjoy puzzles,
• prefer to find solutions without anyone’s help,
• unnecessarily complicate things just because they enjoy it,
• be persistent.

Risk tolerance

People with high risk tolerance tend to:

• fearlessly defend their ideas,
• “do their own thing” without concerning themselves with others’ opinions about them,
• try things out so that they don’t regret it later.
