INTJ Personality Type [The Mastermind]

INTJ is one of the rarest personality types and, perhaps, the most misunderstood type of all. According to different sources, INTJs account for anywhere between 1 and 4 percent of the population. But what makes this enigmatic personality type so unique?

INTJ Meaning

The INTJ four-letter combination means that:

their focus is directed inward toward their own thoughts, ideas, and impressions (I for introversion);
they look for patterns, meanings, and possibilities rather than focusing only on concrete facts (N for intuition);
they rely on logic, analysis, and objective reasoning when making decisions (T for thinking);
they prefer structure, planning, and organization over spontaneity (J for judging).

Being introverted means that people with this personality type tend to focus on their thoughts and prefer quiet surroundings. Being intuitive, in this context, means that INTJs focus on ideas, concepts, patterns, and possibilities.

The thinking function, in terms of the 16 personality types, means that a person with the INTJ personality type values logic and reason and tends to make decisions based on facts rather than emotions. Being judging means that this person likes structure and organization and prefers to plan things in advance because they want to know what to expect.

It is important to note that the letters in your personality type reflect your natural preferences, but these preferences are not absolute. Any personality type may act out of character at times. Even someone with the INTJ personality type may become overwhelmed with emotions and make an irrational choice because of the situation.
